Benefits platform case study

Every firefighter benefit, one sign-in away

The Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona needed one place for health plans, treatments, screenings & retirement. ManesBay, PFFA’s technology partner, built it with InterBiz on Azure: one platform for members, admins & health benefit partners, on any device.

    Benefit services, one sign-in

Health plans, screenings, treatments, retirement & medication checks

    The challenge

Benefits were spread across too many places

Arizona firefighters had no single place to see their health plans, treatments, cancer screenings, medication checks or retirement details. Each lived somewhere else.

Behind the scenes, admins tracked members & approvals by hand. Health partners had no shared way to send results. And firefighters on shift could not do much from a phone. The platform had to fix all of it.

    One home for every benefit

Plans, treatments, screenings & retirement behind one sign-in.

Five places to check. No shared record.

    Approvals that follow one path

Every treatment request moves through the same steps.

    Partners in the loop

Health benefit partners upload results & set timelines in their own portal.

    Four roles, one record

    How we delivered

The InterBiz approach, applied to PFFA

The same five-phase method we use on every engagement. Each phase added a layer to the same platform, so ManesBay and the PFFA team could test real screens early and often.

    1

    Discovery

Mapped every role, benefit & approval step. Set the delivery plan and first screens for the core modules.

    2

    Strategy & architecture

Chose Angular & .NET Core on Azure App Service. Built the design system, sign-in & member profile.

    3

    Build

Role management, medical, dental & vision plans, retiree forms, partner modules, dashboards & reports.

    4

    Integrate & refine

Secure sign-in, medication checks, automatic census uploads & Azure DevOps release pipelines, tested in a beta site.

    5

    Scale

Went live on Azure Front Door. Since then: steady upgrades, new partner services & better speed.

Separate test, beta & production sites kept every release safe before members saw it.

    Inside the platform

    Four roles. One shared record.

Each role sees what it needs, and nothing it shouldn’t. Every update shows up for the others right away.

Health benefit partnerScreenshot needed: result upload & treatment timeline. Blur patient details.
